Blue Screening Issue – VISTA/7 MACHINES
Note: In most cases you do not need a Operating System CD as with Windows XP unless prompted to do so.
1. Power on the computer
2. You may be prompted with an option to "Launch Startup Repair". Highlight this and click enter to continue. This process will take several minutes as it attempts to repair the computer.
3. You may be prompted that the repair encountered problems and are asked to send information to Microsoft, click on "Don't Send". You may also be prompted with "Restart to complete repair", click on cancel.
4. Click on "View Advanced Options for System Recovery"
5. Select US keyboard
6. Select next
7. You may need to use your up and down keys to select your profile. Typically your user profile is the second on the list.
8. Next enter your password (if applicable) used to access your machine in normal mode. If you do not know the password, or do not have one, hit enter.
9. You will now see the "System recovery options screen"
10. Click on “Command Prompt”
11. The computer will now be at a CMD prompt.
12. Type in “c:” without the quotes then hit (enter)
13. Type in “cd windows” without the quotes then hit (enter)
14. Type in “cd system32” without the quotes then hit (enter)
15. Type in “cd drivers” without the quotes then hit (enter)
16. Type in “ren scfltr.sys a” without the quotes then hit (enter)
17. Type in “exit” without the quotes then hit (enter)
18. Once the command prompt closes click restart.
19. Allow the computer to reboot. If you see windows did not start successfully screen after reboot highlight “Start Windows Normally” and press enter.
Once Windows is loaded open your SecureIT Management Console and click on “Click to Resolve” to ensure you SecureIT is fully updated. If SecureIT asks to Reboot click on Reboot Later and continue to click on the "Click to Resolve" until the SecureIT Version Status is completely green. Once this status is green you can safely reboot your computer.
If the above procedure doesn’t work then substitute steps 12-19 with the following:
12. Type in “c:” without the quotes then hit (enter)
13. Type this command: “CD $NtUninstallKB977165$\spuninst” without the quotes then hit (enter)
14. Type this command: “BATCH spuninst.txt” without the quotes (wait until the File Copy lines finish) then hit (enter)
15. Type this command: “systemroot” without the quotes then hit (enter)
16. Type in “exit” without the quotes then hit (enter)
17. Allow the computer to reboot. If you see windows did not start successfully screen after reboot highlight “Start Windows Normally” and press enter.
Once Windows is loaded open your SecureIT Management Console and click on “Click to Resolve” to ensure you SecureIT is fully updated. If SecureIT asks to Reboot click on Reboot Later and continue to click on the "Click to Resolve" until the SecureIT Version Status is completely green. Once this status is green you can safely reboot your computer.
