Blue Screening Issue – VISTA/7 MACHINES

Note: In most cases you do not need a Operating System CD as with Windows XP unless prompted to do so.

1. Power on the computer

2. You may be prompted with an option to "Launch Startup Repair". Highlight this and click enter to continue. This process will take several minutes as it attempts to repair the computer.

3. You may be prompted that the repair encountered problems and are asked to send information to Microsoft, click on "Don't Send". You may also be prompted with "Restart to complete repair", click on cancel.

4. Click on "View Advanced Options for System Recovery"

5. Select US keyboard

6. Select next

7. You may need to use your up and down keys to select your profile. Typically your user profile is the second on the list.

8. Next enter your password (if applicable) used to access your machine in normal mode. If you do not know the password, or do not have one, hit enter.

9. You will now see the "System recovery options screen"

10. Click on “Command Prompt”

11. The computer will now be at a CMD prompt.

12. Type in “c:” without the quotes then hit (enter)

13. Type in “cd windows” without the quotes then hit (enter)

14. Type in “cd system32” without the quotes then hit (enter)

15. Type in “cd drivers” without the quotes then hit (enter)

16. Type in “ren scfltr.sys a” without the quotes then hit (enter)

17. Type in “exit” without the quotes then hit (enter)

18. Once the command prompt closes click restart.

19. Allow the computer to reboot. If you see windows did not start successfully screen after reboot highlight “Start Windows Normally” and press enter.

Once Windows is loaded open your SecureIT Management Console and click on “Click to Resolve” to ensure you SecureIT is fully updated. If SecureIT asks to Reboot click on Reboot Later and continue to click on the "Click to Resolve" until the SecureIT Version Status is completely green. Once this status is green you can safely reboot your computer.

If the above procedure doesn’t work then substitute steps 12-19 with the following:

12. Type in “c:” without the quotes then hit (enter)

13. Type this command: “CD $NtUninstallKB977165$\spuninst” without the quotes then hit (enter)

14. Type this command: “BATCH spuninst.txt” without the quotes (wait until the File Copy lines finish) then hit (enter)

15. Type this command: “systemroot” without the quotes then hit (enter)

16. Type in “exit” without the quotes then hit (enter)

On the evening of Wed. 2-10-10 , a popup came on my computer about a SecureIT update, it had two choices "restart later" or "restart now". I chose "restart now" on both my computers. They shut down but never rebooted.
The instructions worked on my computer that has Vista Basic but didn't work on my computer that has Vista Home Premium.
"Launch Startup Repair" never comes up on the screen.
The page that comes up says "Windows Error Recovery" & then changes to "Windows Boot Manager". "Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing or corrupt.

I'm having the same problem. The program is installed, but not active. When I click to "fix this problem" it activates the software and I get the blue screen when it tries to re-start. I tried the steps listed above - the first one did nothing, the second one did nothing also.

Running widows 7 and having no luck. Can't get phone support b/c apparently you have to pay extra for that.

Any ideas here?

Try safe mode:

1.Turn off computer
2.Locate the F8 button
3.Turn on computer
4.Continuously tap the F8 button till you see the “Windows Advanced Boot Options” screen
5.Using the up and down buttons highlight Safe Mode with Networking
6.Press enter
7.You may need to press enter again to select the operating system
8.Now you should see multi-disk stuff loading on the screen
9.Let that go till you see user log-in screen select your normal log-in
10.After windows loads open the Control Panel
11.Open “Add/Remove Programs” or “Programs and Features”
12.Locate SecureIT and uninstall
13.This should allow computer to load now after a reboot

Post back and we can troubleshoot further before reinstall SecureIT
